MATHCOUNTS
MATHCOUNTS is a national organization for Middle School students that promotes problem solving and positive attitudes about math. The foundation believes that “Middle School is a critical juncture when a love of math must be encouraged, and a fear of math must be overcome.”
At Sullins, we have 10-15 students who voluntarily come once a week during their lunch hour to explore math concepts. Some of these students also participated in a chapter competition in Lynchburg Virginia with almost 100 other Middle Schoolers from our region. Congratulations to Jackson Osterhus who scored in the top 10% all of participants and qualified for the state competition on March 16 in Richmond! Best of luck, Jackson! We are so proud of him and all our club members!
